THE JAMES PURDIE PRIZE AWARD (Prize Presentation for SVN Conference)

Yes its that time of year when we ask you to put pen to paper and share your knowledge and practice with us in the SVN. Gather your courage in both hands and enter into the James Purdie Prize Award.

This involves submitting an abstract to be considered for presentation at the SVN Conference in November. Your presentation should last 10minutes and there will be 2 minutes allowed for audience questions. This should be an original presentation that has not previously been presented at any other venue. Details regarding the format of your abstract and how to submit it are included below.

The winning presentation receives a cheque for £500, and every lead author of abstracts selected for presentation will receive free entry into the conference.

I was fortunate to win this prize in its first year of presentation in 2004 and I can tell you that you will receive a warm welcome from the SVN committee on the day, and in advance of the day we are more than happy to advise and help and encourage where necessary. This is a very friendly conference at which to present and it is a notable entry on your CV.

So come on thinking caps on and share your knowledge and innovation with your colleagues.

See the bottom of this page for abstract guidelines, closing date 1st Sept.

POSTER EXHIBITS (SVN Conference)

This year for the third time we are going to have a Poster Exhibition. The committee invite you to submit an abstract for your poster, that if accepted will be exhibited at the SVN conference. The posters will be judged by a judging panel, and the winning entry will receive a cheque for £100.

This is an excellent way of sharing good practice, and may not be quite as daunting as giving an oral presentation at conference. Your poster may feature any aspect of clinical practice, research or innovation. It does not need to be commercially produced . The size of the poster should not exceed standard A1 poster size (594mm x 841mm) So come on get thinking and putting your ideas together. Again if anyone would like help or information please feel free to contact  us..

Closing date for abstract is the 1st of September, guidelines at the bottom of this page.
